USES:
The product is used in organic syntheses to initiate some
polymerization or co-polymerization reactions of unsaturated
polyesters resins.
HAZARDOUS:
Organic peroxides may irritate eyes, skin and respiratory
passages.
They are sensitive to heat, combustible and promote
combustion. If the ambient temperature increases, than the
rate of decomposition increases too. Above the critical
temperature (SADT)*, spontaneous decomposition may occur
under conditions of restricted heat transfer (e.g. in the
supply container). Contact with concentrated acids and
alkalis, reducing agents or dirt, ash, rust and metal dust,
also may cause spontaneous decomposition. Under confinement
this is an explosion risk. In case of decomposition without
flame formation the vapor/air mixture can explode.
* SADT - (Self accelerating decomposition temperature) is
the lowest temperature at which self accelerating
decomposition may occur with a substance in the packaging as
used in transport. A dangerous self-accelerating
decomposition reaction and, under certain circumstances,
explosion or fire can be caused by thermal decomposition at
and above the following temperature: 60 °C. Contact with
incompatible substances can cause decomposition at or below
the SADT 60 °C.
PACKING:
The product is packed in polyethylene canisters with net
content of 5 kg or 5 kg.
