Uses:
It is used like:
- A initiator for the
polymerization of acrylics, ethylene, vinyl acetate,
vinyl chloride.
- Intermediate product.
HAZARDOUS:
Organic peroxides may irritate eyes, skin and respiratory
passages.
They are sensitive to heat, combustible and promote
combustion.
If the ambient temperature increases, than the rate of
decomposition
increases too. Above the critical temperature (SADT),
spontaneous
decomposition may occur under conditions of restricted heat
transfer
(e.g. in the supply container). Contact with concentrated
acids and
alkalis, reducing agents or dirt, ash, rust and metal dust,
also may
cause spontaneous decomposition. Under confinement this is a
explosion risk. In case of decomposition without flame
formation the vapor/air mixture can explode.
PACKING: ORGANIC PEROXIDE liquid, type C , UN 3107
